1990

Abstract
This is one of several PVO projects comprising the Survival Assistance for Civilian Victims of the Civil Strife in Central America (CASA) program. Located about 45 miles outside of Managua, San Jose Hospital is a private nonprofit facility operated by the Josephites. PADF will supply the hospital with the equipment and supplies it needs to support surgical care and will assist it in establishing a case identification and referral network to reach potential beneficiaries. It is expected that about 550 persons, or 50 a month, will be treated over the life of the project. The George Washington University Medical Center will advise on clinical aspects of the program. In addition, PADF will work with the World Rehabilitation Fund (Project 5240302) to carry out mutually supportive medical and surgical activities.
