Grant is provided under the PVO Co-financing Project to Tenwek Hospital in Bomet, Kenya, to support the hospital"s existing program to increase household incomes in the Bomet area by promoting kitchen gardens and egg and milk production.

Abstract
The main activities to be financed under the grant will be to: train community development workers and helpers; set up four self-help groups which will organize and maintain revolving loan funds; provide veterinary and artificial insemination services to farmers; and construct water tanks. With program assistance, some 335 farmers are expected to participate in zero grazing, egg production, and kitchen garden activities, earning Ksh 900 a month.
