Abstract
UM will implement the project in cooperation with four Polish universities, a U.S. agribusiness cooperative (Land O" Lakes), host government agencies, a local NGO (the Foundation for the Development of Polish Agriculture), and a private consulting firm (Sparks Commodities, Inc.). In all, the grant funds 40 courses, 19 workshops, and 6 seminars in-country. The major target groups are: educators; managers at all levels in the public and private sectors; managers of rural businesses and private agribusinesses; and women entrepreneurs. The program intends to train about 2,500 persons in the first year, of whom about 1,000 are educators (200 professors and 800 other instructors and trainers) who will continue the program in the future. A management video program will be developed, probably by Land O" Lakes.
