Grant is provided under the El Salvador Elections Assistance project (5190794) to the Southwest Voter Research Institute (SVRI), a Hispanic policy research and voter education group based in Texas, to provide support for nonpartisan observer missions for the election in El Salvador of 3/10/91.

Abstract
SVRI will: (1) analyze the voter registration process, especially the Central Electoral Council"s mass voter registration campaign, and work with the United Nations and other groups to ensure a free and fair election; (2) organize a pre-election fact-finding mission of 15 U.S. Hispanic leaders; and (3) field a delegation of 28 U.S. Hispanic leaders to observe the final 10 days of the election period. The delegates will split into 14 teams to monitor a broad sample of the country"s precincts.
