Abstract
Activities will focus on women of child-bearing age and children under five. MIHV will expand its 2-year-old child survival program to add two new interventions focusing on acute respiratory illness and environmental health and safety. Under a collaborative agreement with the Ministry of Health, MIHV will build a health center to provide free immunizations, oral rehydration therapy, family planning, antenatal care, growth monitoring, and curative services. Also, MIHV will provide community-based education about sexually transmitted infectious diseases, family planning methods, infant and family nutrition, and infectious diseases of childhood. The grant will also enable MIHV to complete community organizing and the training of community health workers.
