Abstract
The project aims to provide Karma Village with access to tap water by connecting the new water system to Abu Ushush Bulk Reservoir through the existing 8” pipeline on Road 60. The project scope of work includes the construction of a new Karma Elevated Reservoir with a capacity of 500m³, new transmission pipelines, new distribution network pipelines, and new house connections. The project is being implemented by Arab Brothers Construction & Infrastructure Group (ABC) under the supervision of the Construction Management Contractor (CMC), AECOM. The project has a contract value of $2,693,673.87 and an original project duration of 315 calendar days. The project is currently 44.14% complete, with a planned completion date of October 14, 2018. The Safety Plan for the project was submitted to CMC on November 01, 2017, and was accepted on November 21, 2017. The Safety Plan includes all necessary measures to ensure compliance with safety and health requirements, and includes regular safety tool box meetings, provision of personal protective equipment (PPE), and regular maintenance of equipment. During the reporting period, the following safety measures were taken: provision of PPE, conduct of safety tool box meetings, provision of first aid kits and fire extinguishers, and regular maintenance of equipment. No accidents were reported during this reporting period, and no Notices of Unsafe Conditions (NUCs) were received. A total of 16 Safety Tool Box Meetings (STBMs) were conducted up to this reporting period, with 4 STBMs conducted during this reporting period. The topics discussed during the STBMs included safety measures for reservoir construction, transmission pipeline installation, and house connections. The project has made significant progress, with the construction of the new Karma Elevated Reservoir, new transmission pipelines, and new distribution network pipelines. The project has also implemented safety measures to ensure the safety of workers and the public. The project is expected to be completed by October 14, 2018, and will provide Karma Village with access to tap water for the first time. The project has a total of 1,923 beneficiaries, and the construction of the new water system will bring clean potable water at an affordable price to the people of Karma Village. The project will also allow the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) to improve water service to meet future demand of the bulk customers. The project is a significant step towards improving the daily lives of the Palestinians through improved infrastructure across multiple sectors. The project has a number of key personnel, including the Task Order Manager, Mohammad Halayka, the Quality Control Manager, Motasem Abu Rayyan, the Safety & Environmental Compliance Officer, Ibrahim Nasser, and the Project Engineer, Nidal Abu Arqoob. The project has also implemented a number of safety measures, including the provision of PPE, regular safety tool box meetings, and regular maintenance of equipment. The project has made significant progress, and is expected to be completed by October 14, 2018. The project will provide Karma Village with access to tap water for the first time, and will bring clean potable water at an affordable price to the people of Karma Village. The project is a significant step towards improving the daily lives of the Palestinians through improved infrastructure across multiple sectors.
