Abstract
The courses included Virtual New Employee Orientation (NEO), Career Candidate Corps (C3), Virtual Supervisor Series, Manager Certification Course (MCC), and Cultivating the Leader Within (CLW). The NEO course had 7 deliveries with 675 participants, while the C3 course had 3 deliveries with 47 participants. The Virtual Supervisor Series had 1 delivery with 23 participants, and the MCC course had 1 delivery with 8 participants. The CLW course had 1 delivery with 39 participants. Implementation of the courses focused on three key areas: instructional design, logistics, and curriculum development. The EnCompass team successfully managed administration, staffing, course logistics, and curriculum design for this contract, as well as registration and Administrative Management Services (AMS) communication for the NEO deliveries. The team also implemented the C3 Orientation as a fully virtual offering and completed delivery of C3 Class 16, Class 17, and Class 18. The EnCompass team achieved several milestones during the quarter, including completing a series of updates for the Office of Civil Rights and Diversity (OCRD) and submitting deliverables and presenting results for Level 3 evaluation for cohorts that completed the workshop between November 2017 and December 2019 to USAID. The team also continued to implement the post-SCC coaching program, with 3 SCC graduates currently participating in the program as of September 2020, and 9 SCC graduates completing the program between July and September 2020. The EnCompass team also faced several challenges during the quarter, including project planning and course deliveries due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The team regularly followed up with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) to ensure their planning and logistics were responsive to the latest guidance. The team also continued working to identify ways to support USAID needs using virtual platforms, where feasible. Course evaluations for the virtual sessions conducted from July-Sept 2020 showed positive feedback from participants. The NEO course received praise for its detailed information, well-developed PowerPoints, and excellent presentation. The C3 course was commended for its well-planned and facilitated delivery, with participants appreciating the opportunity to learn about USAID and get to know their cohort. The Virtual Supervisor Series was praised for its relevance, energy, and flexibility, with participants appreciating the opportunity to meet senior leadership and the FSC. The EnCompass team plans to deliver several virtual courses in the upcoming quarter, including bi-monthly virtual NEOs, 2 virtual C3 deliveries, 3 virtual MCC deliveries, 2 virtual Supervisor Series sessions, and 2 virtual CLW deliveries. The team will continue to work with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) to ensure their planning and logistics are responsive to the latest guidance and to identify ways to support USAID needs using virtual platforms, where feasible.
