Abstract
The projects are being implemented by Trigon Associates, LLC, under the supervision of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Jordan Mission. The JSEP project involves the expansion of 144 schools across Jordan, with a total of 27 schools in Phase 1, 36 schools in Phase 2, 33 schools in Phase 3, and 48 schools in Phase 4. The project is being implemented by various contractors, including Sadeen Contracting, Al Mostaqbal, Mohammad Tahayneh for Contracting, and Mansour Essa Elagaileh & Partners. As of May 16, 2019, the project has achieved significant progress, with 100% completion of all packages in Phase 1, 100% completion of all packages in Phase 2, and 29.60% to 100% completion of packages in Phase 4. The SKEP project involves the construction of 36 schools across Jordan, with a total of 98.00% to 99.00% completion of packages in Phase 1. The project is being implemented by various contractors, including Engicon, Al Sha'aer Contracting, and CCG. As of May 16, 2019, the project has achieved significant progress, with 98.00% to 99.00% completion of packages in Phase 1. The implementation of both projects has faced several challenges, including delays in work progress, disputes between supervision firms and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MPWH), and obstacles in utilities connections. However, the Ministry of Education (MOE) has expressed its commitment to pay all fees for the utilities connections and has emphasized its intention to follow up with the electrical company to expedite the electrical connectivity process to all pending schools. The projects are expected to be completed by September 15, 2021, and are expected to improve the educational infrastructure in Jordan, providing better learning environments for students and enhancing the overall quality of education in the country.
