Abstract
The projects are being implemented by Trigon Associates, LLC, under the supervision of the United States Agency for International Development Jordan Mission (USAID/Jordan). The JSEP is a comprehensive project that involves the expansion and renovation of 144 schools across Jordan. The project is divided into four phases, with each phase consisting of multiple packages. As of the bi-weekly report dated June 16-27, 2019, the project has made significant progress, with 27 schools completed in Phase I, 36 schools completed in Phase II, and 10 schools completed in Phase III. However, the project is facing challenges related to utilities connections, with only 13 schools completed in Phase IV. The SKEP is a separate project that aims to improve the quality of education in Jordan by providing modern facilities and equipment to schools. The project is also divided into two phases, with Phase I consisting of 10 schools and Phase II consisting of 12 schools. As of the bi-weekly report dated June 16-27, 2019, Phase I has made significant progress, with 8 schools completed and 2 schools substantially completed. However, Phase II is facing challenges related to construction progress, with only 26-34% completion rate in Package 2. The bi-weekly report highlights several key activities and challenges faced by the projects. These include the completion of punch list items, utilities connections, and close-out of packages. The report also mentions the need for follow-up with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MPWH) and the Ministry of Education (MOE) to resolve outstanding issues. The report also highlights the importance of coordination between the supervising firms, contractors, and government agencies to ensure the successful completion of the projects. The report mentions the need for regular meetings and updates to ensure that all parties are aware of the progress and challenges faced by the projects. The JSEP and SKEP projects are expected to be completed by September 15, 2021, under the IDIQ contract number AID-OAA-I-15-00053. The projects are being implemented by Trigon Associates, LLC, under the supervision of USAID/Jordan. The projects are expected to improve the quality of education in Jordan by providing modern facilities and equipment to schools.
