Abstract
The projects are being implemented by Trigon Associates, LLC, under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MPWH) and the Ministry of Education (MOE). JSEP Phase I has been completed, with all packages successfully closed out. However, remaining punch list items are still pending between MPWH and the contractor. Utilities connections are still in progress, with some delays reported. In Phase II, substantial completion payments have been submitted to USAID for packages 1 and 2, while packages 3 and 4 are still in progress. Utilities connections remain a challenge, with some schools experiencing delays. SKEP Phase I has made significant progress, with three schools substantially completed and first and second inspections completed for two schools. Utilities connections are still in progress. In Phase II, construction is underway, but delays in work progress are anticipated. Obstacles from existing electrical poles and underground cables continue to pose a challenge at one school. The detailed progress report for JSEP and SKEP highlights the status of each project phase. In JSEP, 27 schools are under construction or handing over in progress, with utilities connections in progress. In SKEP, 36 schools are under construction, with utilities remaining a major challenge. Trigon continues to follow up with MPWH, MOE, and supervising firms to ensure timely completion of the projects. The projects are being implemented under the supervision of Dr. Issam Omar, the COR, and Michael McGovern, the Chief of Party. The projects are funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the IDIQ Contract Number AID-OAA-I-15-00053 and Task Order Number 72027818F00005. The submission date for this bi-weekly report is August 8, 2019.
