Abstract
A training program, conducted through the Colanta Educa virtual education platform, targeted 39 young individuals from various municipalities. The ten-session training covered 12 thematic units, including Milk Quality, Sustainable Livestock, and Production Costs. The training aimed to equip participants with comprehensive management skills for dairy ventures. The program's success was evident in the attendees' increased understanding of dairy production and management practices. The initiative also facilitated the delivery of high genetic value seed to cassava producers in Bajo Cauca. This collaboration between the Latin American Cassava Consortium and the Colombian Corporation for Agricultural Research resulted in the arrival of 214 bunches of classified seed, comprising the varieties Ropain, Sinuana, and Belloti. The seed will be propagated in the field by the Youth Entrepreneurship and Leadership Laboratory Association, with the goal of strengthening crop productivity among Bajo Cauca farmers linked to the Alliance. Furthermore, 28 new production infrastructure units were installed in June by small and medium-sized dairy farmers in Antioquia's department. The Alliance provided soft credits to beneficiaries for the purchase of milk cooling tanks, milking equipment, and bulk silos, contributing to the productivity of their enterprises and improving their quality of life. The initiative's focus on technification has led to increased productivity among small and medium-sized dairy farmers. The program's emphasis on technology adoption has enabled farmers to improve their dairy production and management practices. Additionally, the first virtual edition of the Young Future Dairy Seedbed Program was conducted, providing a platform for young dairy farmers to develop their skills and knowledge. The dairy development initiative in Antioquia's department has made significant strides in enhancing the knowledge and skills of young dairy farmers. The program's focus on comprehensive management skills, technification, and technology adoption has contributed to increased productivity among small and medium-sized dairy farmers. The initiative's collaboration with various stakeholders has also facilitated the delivery of high genetic value seed to cassava producers in Bajo Cauca, further strengthening crop productivity among farmers linked to the Alliance.
