Abstract
The Multiple Roads Project (North) is one of the key components of INP II, focusing on the construction of several roads in the northern region. The project is being implemented by International Relief and Development, Inc. (IRD) under Task Order Contract No. AID-294-TO-13-00002. During the reporting period of June 1-30, 2013, IRD conducted several public relation and outreach activities, including meetings with local women committees in Jenin and Al Jalama. These meetings aimed to update residents on the project's progress, goals, and importance. IRD also continued to implement the approved Safety Plan, conducting weekly safety meetings with subcontractors and four safety tool box meetings. In terms of security coordination, IRD held several meetings with Bet El Civil Administration and Jenin DCL to discuss security arrangements for the project. The meetings focused on signing traffic plans, coordinating asphalt transportation, and closing main roads to facilitate detour road construction. Regarding project progress, the overall status is not currently on schedule due to changes in the project design and new detour road construction. A time extension has been requested through Variation Order Request #1. The project has achieved 9.99% actual percentage complete, with a planned percentage complete of 17.50%. The elapsed time is 34.58%. IRD submitted a total of 2 submittals, including resubmittals, during the current reporting period. Review comments were received for 6 submittals, with the Engineer's review time ranging from 1 day to 14 days. The submittals disposition status shows that 2 submittals were submitted without exceptions noted, and 2 submittals required corrections. Construction activities completed during the current reporting period include excavation and laying of a 40 cm rock fill layer for 250 m of detour road and laying and compacting of 20 cm of the topping layer for 300 m of detour road. Planned activities for the next month include excavation and laying of a 40 cm rock fill layer for 300 m of detour road and laying and compacting of 20 cm of the topping layer for 250 m of detour road. IRD achieved a satisfactory level of safety during the reporting period, with zero accidents and no notices of unsafe conditions issued by the CMC. The project's overall safety status is satisfactory, with respect to the current workforce and progress on site.
