Abstract
The project will be implemented through the existing GOS health infrastructure, which includes 3 maternal/child health (MCH) centers, 39 health posts, 36 rural maternities, and 73 health huts staffed by village health workers (VHW"s). The project will expand CS services by developing MCH centers and health posts into fixed immunization sites and distributing oral rehydration therapy (ORT) packets through all health posts, health huts, and rural maternities. UNICEF and the GOS will provide the vaccines, ORT packets, cold chain, and other equipment for the centers, while CRS will reinforce the health delivery system through supervision, logistics support, and training of state nurses and VHW"s in ORT, immunization, and nutrition.
