Abstract
The project is led by Breakthrough RESEARCH, which is conducting an evaluation comparing the integrated SBC program in Kebbi and Sokoto states with the vertical SBC program in Zamfara state. The evaluation focuses on four key areas: program expenditures, COVID-19 related expenditures, unit costs for SBC interventions, and program impact in integrated Kebbi state. Program expenditures and COVID-19 related expenditures are examined in the midline report, which covers the time frame from January 2020 to December 2021. The report highlights the total expenditures by state, expenditure breakdowns, and COVID-19 related expenditures. The analysis also estimates unit costs for SBC interventions and assesses program impact in integrated Kebbi state from the baseline to midline behavioral sentinel survey. The integrated SBC program in Kebbi state includes malaria, family planning, maternal and child health, and nutrition interventions. The program aims to improve health behaviors and reduce mortality rates in the state. The evaluation assesses the effectiveness of the integrated program in achieving its objectives and compares it with the vertical SBC program in Zamfara state. The midline report provides a comprehensive analysis of the program expenditures, COVID-19 related expenditures, unit costs, and program impact. The report highlights the strengths and weaknesses of the integrated SBC program and provides recommendations for improvement. The evaluation aims to inform programmatic decisions and improve the effectiveness of SBC programming in Nigeria. The integrated SBC program in Kebbi state has incurred significant expenditures, including expenditures on malaria, family planning, maternal and child health, and nutrition interventions. The program has also incurred COVID-19 related expenditures, which are examined in the midline report. The analysis estimates unit costs for SBC interventions and assesses program impact in integrated Kebbi state from the baseline to midline behavioral sentinel survey. The evaluation highlights the importance of integrated SBC programming in achieving health behavior change and reducing mortality rates. The integrated program has shown significant impact in improving health behaviors and reducing mortality rates in Kebbi state. The evaluation provides recommendations for improvement and highlights the need for continued support for the integrated SBC program.
