Abstract
The program, facilitated by Samaritan's Purse, has provided humanitarian assistance to 11,193 beneficiary households (HHs) or 85,383 individuals, comprising 44,036 males and 41,347 females. This assistance represents a 69% overall program accomplishment out of 16,500 HHs targeted. The humanitarian response has been provided in two intervention sites: the Mutwanga axis in North Kivu Province and the Niania-Bafwasende axis in Ituri and Tchopo Provinces. The assistance has been facilitated through a dual intervention modality, including voucher fairs and in-kind direct distribution. The program has provided food, non-food items (NFIs), and emergency agricultural assistance to the affected populations. The program has provided NFI assistance to 7,222 beneficiary HHs, comprising 49,709 beneficiaries, which represents 72% of the targeted 10,000 HHs. The NFI assistance has been provided through local fairs and direct distributions. Beneficiaries have accessed their NFI assistance through vouchers, with each voucher worth $70, and have used a total of $259,210 to purchase NFIs. The program has also provided emergency agricultural assistance to 3,388 beneficiary HHs, comprising 30,099 individuals, which represents 52% of the targeted 6,500 HHs. Beneficiaries have received 71,981.40 kg of assorted seeds, including maize, ordinary and soya beans, rice, peanuts, cabbage, onions, tomatoes, amaranth, eggplant, and leeks. The program has also provided food assistance to 7,994 beneficiary HHs, comprising 55,704 project participants, which represents 65% of the targeted 30,000 rations. The food assistance has been provided through direct in-kind distribution, local fairs, or a combination of both. Beneficiaries have received 448.32 metric tons of food, including maize flour, beans, vegetable cooking oil, and iodized table salt. The program has also facilitated a multi-sectoral vulnerability assessment and targeting, which resulted in the identification of 7,994 HHs. While 7,222 HHs have been provided with NFIs, 772 HHs are scheduled for assistance in the next reporting period. The program has been implemented in six localities in North Kivu Province and eight localities in Ituri and Tchopo Provinces.
