Abstract
The program partners with 111 organizations in 41 countries, including 41 organizations across 27 countries in its Intensive Program (IP) and 86 organizations across 33 countries through its Accelerated Program (AP). Engendering Industries supports partners to improve gender equality and business performance outcomes by implementing organizational change management interventions throughout the employee life cycle (ELC). The program implements customized best practices, demand-driven coaching, specialized training programs, and an Intensive and Accelerated Program to build the capacity of organizational leaders to implement gender equality interventions in their organizations. Engendering Industries partners with Johns Hopkins University (JHU) to implement the Self-Empowerment and Equity for Change (SEE Change) Initiative and Equimundo to implement an intensive men's engagement training program. The program also provides survivor-centered gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response trainings to its partners and collaborates with Power Africa to support gender activities, including the management of the Women in African Power (WiAP) Network. The Best Practices Framework (BPF) is a key program tool that is updated annually with new resources, tools, and information to support partners in advancing gender equality in their organizations. In FY23 Q2, Engendering Industries published the revised print version of the BPF on its website and began translating the BPF into Spanish and French. The program also began developing an interactive online BPF tool to guide website visitors through gender equality best practices. The Engendering Industries Intensive Program provides demand-driven coaching support to partners who have completed the Gender Equity Executive Leadership Program (GEELP) facilitated by the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. Change Management Coaches (CMCs) also support the Intensive Program partners with additional ad-hoc requests to implement interventions, support program components, and develop sustainability plans. Engendering Industries concluded its contract with Georgetown University. The Workforce Gender Equality Accelerated Program began recruiting participants for the final in-person delivery of the program scheduled for June 2023. Targeted sectors for participant organizations focused on those working on renewable energy and green jobs. Engendering Industries continued supporting its three institutional partners: Lagos Business School, University of Los Andes, and KenGen to deliver the Accelerated Program. The University of Los Andes commenced its second delivery of the Accelerated Program on March 7, 2023, with 40 participants from 16 organizations. Engendering Industries created a suite of materials to support the sustainable implementation of the Accelerated Program by institutional partners, including a Program Marketing Guide, Communications Toolkit, and Delivery Checklist. The program also continued providing virtual on-demand coaching support to all Cohorts 1-4 Intensive Program partners and provided coaching support to graduates from the in-person course deliveries in 2022. The program has committed $721,245 in grants to 18 partners through the Partner Support Fund, which provides grant resources to assist partners in conducting activities outlined in their gender equality action plans.
