Abstract
The research aimed to evaluate the relationship between ecological consciousness and green purchase behavior, with culture serving as a mediating variable. The study employed a quantitative approach, using a survey of individual consumers with varying characteristics. A structured questionnaire was used as the data collection method, and partial least squares structural equations modeling was applied for data analysis. The results showed a positive and significant link between ecological consciousness and green purchase behavior, with culture having a positive and significant effect on green purchase behavior. Demographic characteristics of the respondents were analyzed, revealing a diverse sample with varying age, gender, education level, and income. The reliability and validity of the measures used in the study were tested, and exploratory factor analysis was conducted to identify the underlying factors of ecological consciousness and green purchase behavior. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize the data, and statistical tests were applied to examine the relationships between the variables. Correlation analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between ecological consciousness and green purchase behavior, while regression analysis showed that ecological consciousness had a significant positive effect on green purchase behavior. The study also examined the moderating role of culture on the relationship between ecological consciousness and green purchase behavior. The results showed that culture had a significant moderating effect, indicating that cultural values and norms play a crucial role in shaping consumer behavior towards green purchasing. The study's findings have implications for policymakers and businesses seeking to promote sustainable consumption practices. The results suggest that raising awareness about environmental issues and promoting green purchasing habits can lead to increased ecological consciousness and subsequent green purchase behavior. The study also highlights the importance of considering cultural values and norms in developing effective strategies for promoting sustainable consumption. The study's methodology and findings provide a valuable contribution to the existing literature on ecological consciousness and green purchase behavior. The results of the study can inform the development of effective policies and strategies for promoting sustainable consumption practices, ultimately contributing to a more environmentally conscious and sustainable future. The study's data analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between ecological consciousness and green purchase behavior, indicating that consumers who are more environmentally conscious are more likely to engage in green purchasing. The study also found that culture has a significant moderating effect on the relationship between ecological consciousness and green purchase behavior, suggesting that cultural values and norms play a crucial role in shaping consumer behavior towards green purchasing. The study's findings have implications for businesses seeking to promote sustainable consumption practices. By understanding the relationship between ecological consciousness and green purchase behavior, businesses can develop effective strategies for promoting sustainable consumption practices and reducing their environmental impact. The study's results also highlight the importance of considering cultural values and norms in developing effective strategies for promoting sustainable consumption.
