Abstract
The project aims to reduce unmet need by scaling up evidence-based practices to ensure that women and girls receive and use quality services through all stages of the reproductive lifecycle. Focusing on the promotion of global support for reduction of unmet need through the scale-up of evidence-based practices in family planning/reproductive health, E2A promotes gender equality, healthy family planning/reproductive health behaviors, and the development of compelling evidence for family planning use in accordance with national and international guidance and frameworks. The project is led by Pathfinder International, currently in partnership with ExpandNet, IntraHealth International, and PATH. This is the project's thirty-third performance monitoring report, covering the period October 1 – December 31, 2019. The report highlights the project's accomplishments and activities during the quarter, including communication, documentation, and dissemination activities. Throughout the quarter, E2A undertook various communication, documentation, and dissemination activities that contributed to increased project visibility with a global audience. The project worked closely with global, regional, and country-level partners, such as FP2020, Ouagadougou Partnership Coordination Unit, and ministries of health. E2A also engaged fellow implementing partners and recipients of USAID funds, including Management Sciences for Health (MSH), to disseminate project learnings. The E2A communications team oriented technical staff on Asana, the project's new project management system, throughout October and November. Asana allows E2A staff to maximize transparency around document production, track discussion around workplan items more efficiently, and minimize problems with version control typically associated with email traffic. The E2A communications team continued collaborations with vendor Eleven11 to complete updates to both the online and desktop versions of Not Without Us! A Tool for AYRH-Responsive Planning (TARP) throughout November 2019. These updates expanded the user-friendliness and overall functionality of the tool, and subsequently allowed for the finalization of the TARP curriculum. E2A, with support from FP2020 youth focal point, Brady Bilala, debuted the updated tool at a national family planning conference in the Democratic Republic of Congo during the first week of December. E2A also disseminated results and key learnings from the Saving Mothers, Giving Life program in Cross River State, Nigeria for a USAID audience on October 9, 2019. The project's accomplishments and activities during the quarter demonstrate its commitment to strengthening family planning/reproductive health service delivery and promoting global support for reduction of unmet need. By scaling up evidence-based practices and promoting gender equality, healthy family planning/reproductive health behaviors, and compelling evidence for family planning use, E2A aims to ensure that women and girls receive and use quality services through all stages of the reproductive lifecycle.
