Abstract
The project focuses on the promotion of global support for reduction of unmet need through the scale-up of evidenced-based practices in FP/RH, promoting gender equality, healthy FP/RH behaviors, and the development of compelling evidence for FP use in accordance with national and international guidance and frameworks. The project is led by Pathfinder International, in partnership with ExpandNet, IntraHealth International, Management Sciences for Health (MSH), and PATH. The project's twenty-eight performance monitoring report covers the period July 1st- September 30, 2018. Highlights from E2A Project Year 7 include increased global support for the use of FP/RH evidence-based practices. E2A's accomplishments in Year 7 highlight how the project has strengthened and solidified its regional and global partnerships and collaborative mechanisms. For example, as part of the Expanding Method Choice for Youth Working Group, E2A held a high-level global consultation with the World Health Organization and University of North Carolina's Full Access, Full Choice Project. The consultation resulted in the development of a Global Learning Agenda to improve access to, and use of, an expanded range of contraceptives among adolescents and youth. The project also continued to lead the Community of Practice (COP) on Scale-Up, which was launched in Year 3. This COP held successful events and webinars to further learning and evidence generation around systematic scale-up. Of special note was the second annual high-level technical convening, which brought together over 45 participants, including researchers, program experts, international organizations, donors, and foundations. In addition, E2A continued to support country-level activities, including the Savings Mothers, Giving Life Initiative – Expanding FP (SMGL-EFP) Initiative in Nigeria, the HelloMama initiative in Nigeria, and the Building Resilience through Strengthening and Integrating Reproductive Health and Family Planning initiative in Niger. These activities aimed to improve access to quality family planning and reproductive health services for women and girls. The project's performance monitoring report highlights the progress made in Year 7, including the development of a Global Learning Agenda, the continuation of the Community of Practice on Scale-Up, and the support of country-level activities. The report provides a comprehensive overview of the project's accomplishments and highlights the importance of continued support for the project's goals and objectives.
