Abstract
The project aims to provide Karma Village with access to tap water by connecting the new water system to Abu Ushush Bulk Reservoir through the existing 8" pipeline on Road 60. The project scope of work includes the construction of a new Karma Elevated Reservoir with a capacity of 500m³, new transmission pipelines, new distribution network pipelines, and new house connections. The project's key objective is to provide Karma Village with a new water system for the first time, connecting the village to clean potable water in their homes for the first time and bringing clean potable water at an affordable price for people who never had such access. The project also aims to allow the PWA to improve water service to meet future demand of the bulk customers. The project's location is Karma Village, Hebron Governorate, and the owner is the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA). The donor and client are USAID, and the USAID Task Order Contracting Officer Representative (TOCOR) is Ms. Sonia Massis. The construction contractor is Arab Brothers Construction & Infrastructure Group (ABC), and the contract value is $2,693,673.87. The project's safety status is being monitored and managed by the construction contractor, ABC. The Safety Plan was submitted to the Construction Management Contractor (CMC) on November 1, 2017, and was accepted on November 21, 2017. The Safety Plan includes all necessary measures to ensure compliance with safety and health requirements, and during this reporting period, the following safety measures were taken: providing all required personal protective equipment (PPE) to laborers and employees, conducting safety tool box meetings, providing first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency numbers at the site, and checking on all equipment and performing regular maintenance for them. The traffic plan and measures were also developed to provide safety for pedestrians and drivers during the construction period. The Traffic Control Plan was submitted to CMC on November 12, 2017, and was accepted on November 21, 2017. The plan was stamped by the Hebron Traffic Department and Karma Local Council. The project's progress is being monitored and reported on a monthly basis. The contract elapsed time is 100.00% (389 days), and the planned percentage of completion is 100.00%. The actual percentage of completion is also 100.00%. The number of beneficiaries is 1,923 persons. The project's key personnel include the Task Order Manager, Mohammad Halayka, the Quality Control Manager, Motasem Abu Rayyan, the Safety & Environmental Compliance Officer, Ibrahim Nasser, and the Project Engineer, Nidal Abu Arqoob. The project's photos and annexes are also included in the report. The project's overall objective is to provide Karma Village with access to clean potable water, and the project's progress is being monitored and reported on a monthly basis. The project's safety status and traffic plan are also being managed and monitored by the construction contractor, ABC.
