The Karma Water Project is a project aimed at providing Karma Community with access to tap water by connecting the new water system to Abu Ushush Bulk Reservoir through the existing 8” pipeline on Road 60.

Abstract
The project will provide Karma Village with a new water system for the first time, connecting the new reservoir, new transmission pipeline, and new distribution network to clean potable water at an affordable price for people who never had access to clean potable water. The project scope of work consists of constructing a new Karma Elevated Reservoir with a capacity of 500m³, constructing new Karma Main Transmission Pipelines approximately 0.30 km, constructing new Karma Distribution Network Pipelines approximately 8.00 km, and constructing new Karma Service Connections, 370 units. The project is located in Karma Village, Hebron Governorate, and is owned by the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA). The project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and is managed by Arab Brothers Construction & Infrastructure Group (ABC). The Safety Plan was submitted to the Construction Management Contractor (CMC) on November 1, 2017, and was accepted on November 21, 2017. The plan includes measures to ensure compliance with safety and health requirements, assist project personnel in planning, organizing, and control monitoring, and implementation of corrective measures to prevent exposures that could cause injury, accidents, or negative environmental consequences. During the reporting period, the following safety measures were taken: providing personal protective equipment (PPEs) to laborers and employees, conducting safety tool box meetings for laborers and employees, providing first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency numbers, checking equipment and performing regular maintenance, and implementing safety measures during excavation, installation, and installation of chambers, mechanical fittings, and external protective coating. One minor accident was reported up to this reporting period, and no accidents were reported during this reporting period. One Notice of Unsafe Conditions (NUC) was reported up to this reporting period, and no NUCs were reported during this reporting period. A total of 34 Safety Tool Box Meetings (STBMs) were conducted up to this reporting period, with 3 STBMs conducted during this reporting period. The project has achieved 98.55% planned completion and has a planned completion date of September 30, 2018. The project has a contract value of $2,693,673.87 and has a contract elapsed time of 91.71% (344 days). The project has a total of 1,923 beneficiaries.
