The Feed the Future Tanzania Land Tenure Assistance (LTA) program has been operational since 2018, with the primary goal of improving land tenure security for smallholder farmers in Tanzania.

Abstract
The program is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and is implemented by DAI Global LLC. The LTA program has made significant progress in its efforts to improve land tenure security for smallholder farmers. The program has established a robust staffing structure, with a team of field assistants and a GIS technician. The team has been expanded to accelerate the program's progress, with two additional field assistants recruited and trained during the reporting period. The program has also made significant progress in its efforts to improve land use planning and management. The MLHHSD Land Use Team has commenced work on Village Land Use Plans (VLUPs) for 8 villages, with a focus on accelerating the process and ensuring that land use plans are in place before demarcation and adjudication. The team has also made significant progress in preparing VLUPs for Mgama and Malambosi villages, with 96% completion by the end of the reporting period. The program has also made significant progress in its efforts to improve land tenure security for smallholder farmers. The LTA program has relocated to expanded premises to accommodate additional field staff, with the new office located in the same building as the previous one. The program has also made significant progress in its efforts to improve land use planning and management, with the MLHHSD Land Use Team working closely with the District Lands Office (DLO) to prepare VLUPs for 8 villages.
