More than 1,000 MSMEs received business development services, resulting in a 25% increase in sales revenue. In addition to these interventions, the program implemented activities under the Additional Ukraine Supplemental Appropriations Act 2022, which aimed to improve the resilience of farmers by strengthening their safety nets and reducing the impact of increased fertilizer costs. The program also leveraged alternative initiatives to chemical fertilizer and introduced effective practices and technologies through co-investment grants. The program's geographic focus was on the Kolda region in southern Senegal, with a specific emphasis on the Departments of Kolda, Vélingara, and Bignona. The program's timeframes were from October 2022 to September 2023, with a focus on achieving the program's objectives and outcomes within this period. The program's monitoring and evaluation framework was designed to track progress towards the program's objectives and outcomes, with a focus on data collection and management, monitoring and evaluation field support, and USAID data reporting and knowledge management services. The program's communications strategy aimed to disseminate information to stakeholders, including farmers, MSMEs, and government officials, through various channels, including social media and community meetings. Overall, the Feed the Future Senegal Dooleel Mbay program aimed to improve the productivity and income of smallholder farmers in Senegal, with a focus on increasing smallholder productivity along value chains, employment and enterprise development in key food value chains, and access to markets and trade.
