Abstract
The program was funded by the United States Agency for Development (USAID) and was scheduled to run from July 1, 2021, to October 30, 2021. During the reporting period, all 34 students attended internship training, which consisted of two months of on-the-job training in their respective fields. The students received financial assistance, including stipends and transportation fees, to support their participation in the program. The internship fees were paid, and parents of the students were actively involved in monitoring their attendance and progress. The program achieved its goals and objectives, with all students completing their internship training by the end of September 2021. The students reported a positive experience, citing the opportunity to gain practical skills and knowledge in their chosen fields. They also expressed gratitude for the financial support provided by USAID and Foyer De L'Amitié. Despite facing routine difficulties, such as high traveling fees due to economic crises, the program was able to overcome these challenges and provide a successful experience for the students. The program's success was attributed to the active involvement of parents and the use of WhatsApp for daily monitoring and communication. One student, a nursing graduate, shared a success story, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the internship program at Tamnine hospital. The student credited the program with teaching them the importance of job rules and competencies, and providing them with a sense of social responsibility. For the next reporting period, the program plans to assist all students in finding good job opportunities and provide training on how to write a CV and conduct a job interview. This will help the students to transition into the workforce and become independent.
