Abstract
The program was designed to address two pressing needs: improving children's learning outcomes in reading and writing, particularly in the early years of school, and supporting teachers in their daily work by providing them with new pedagogical techniques. The program consists of 120 radio broadcasts, each lasting 30 minutes, which will be aired daily from October to April. The broadcasts are designed to be engaging and interactive, using a variety of techniques and strategies to promote learning. The program is structured around seven segments: an opening segment, a segment on language mechanisms, a musical segment, a reading segment, a writing segment, a consolidation segment, and a closing segment. The broadcasts feature four main characters: M. Konaté, the teacher; Fati, a curious and intelligent young girl; Moussa, Fati's friend; and Mme Aïcha, Fati's grandmother. The characters are designed to be relatable and engaging, and are used to convey important messages and lessons. The program also includes a range of signals and sound effects to help children navigate the broadcasts and engage with the content. The guide for teachers is divided into three sections: an introduction to the program, a daily guide for listening to the broadcasts, and a section on activities for extension. The daily guide provides a detailed description of each broadcast, including the objectives for the students and teachers, the materials required, and the activities to be carried out. The guide also includes suggestions for extending the learning beyond the broadcast, with activities designed to promote creativity, imagination, and critical thinking. The program is designed to be flexible and adaptable, allowing teachers to use the broadcasts in a way that suits their needs and the needs of their students. The guide provides a range of suggestions and ideas for using the broadcasts in the classroom, and includes a range of resources and materials to support teachers in their work. Overall, the "Au Pays de la lecture" program is a comprehensive and engaging initiative that aims to improve literacy and writing skills among children in Mali. The program is designed to be accessible and inclusive, and provides a range of resources and support for teachers to help them implement the program in their classrooms.
