Abstract
The geographic focus of the initiative was on Eastern Province, where the majority of Rwanda's agricultural production takes place. The program's implementation was carried out in collaboration with local government authorities, agricultural extension services, and other stakeholders. The initiative's timeframes were set for a period of three years, with the first year focused on implementation and the second and third years dedicated to monitoring and evaluation. The program's recommendations included scaling up the use of sustainable agriculture practices, improving access to credit and markets for smallholder farmers, and strengthening the capacity of local government authorities and agricultural extension services. The initiative's success was attributed to the strong collaboration among stakeholders, the effective use of resources, and the commitment to improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Rwanda.
