Abstract
The station features a pedal-operated tap that allows users to control the flow of water. To initiate the hand washing process, the user presses the pedal beneath the hand washing station with their foot, allowing water to flow from the tap. The user then wets their hands with the running water and releases the pedal when they no longer need the water flow. Next, the user presses the soap dispenser pedal located next to the hand washing station to release the hand washing gel. The user applies the soap or hand wash to their hands and proceeds to lather their hands by rubbing them together with the soap. The lathering process involves rubbing the hands together to distribute the soap evenly, paying particular attention to the backs of the hands, between the fingers, and under the fingernails. Once the hands are well-lathered, the user rinses them thoroughly under the running water to remove all soap residue. After rinsing, the user dries their hands using a clean towel or hand dryer, or by disposing of a used hand towel. Proper hand hygiene is essential for preventing the spread of illnesses, including COVID-19. By following the steps outlined for using the hand washing station, users can help protect themselves and others from the risk of infection.
