Abstract
The CLAimHealth Activity, a USAID-funded program, aimed to improve family planning and maternal, neonatal, and child health access for underserved populations in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs) through service delivery networks (SDNs) in the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur and Sultan Kudarat. The program focused on developing and strengthening SDNs, which are networks of healthcare providers and facilities that work together to deliver essential health services. The SDNs in Zamboanga del Sur and Sultan Kudarat were established to address the limited access to healthcare services in these areas. The SDNs were developed through a collaborative effort between the provincial health offices, local government units, and other stakeholders. The SDNs were designed to provide a range of health services, including family planning, maternal, neonatal, and child health, to underserved populations. The CLAimHealth Activity supported the development of the SDNs through technical assistance, training, and capacity building, and provided funding for the implementation of the SDNs. The program also conducted a desk review of MindanaoHealth reports and studies, and conducted key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and content analysis to gather data on the SDNs. The findings of the CLAimHealth Activity indicate that the SDNs in Zamboanga del Sur and Sultan Kudarat have been successful in improving access to family planning and maternal, neonatal, and child health services for underserved populations. The SDNs have increased the availability of healthcare services, improved the quality of care, and reduced the costs of healthcare services. The CLAimHealth Activity also identified several best practices and promising interventions that have contributed to the success of the SDNs. These include the establishment of a strong governance structure, the development of a clear and comprehensive service delivery plan, and the provision of training and capacity building for healthcare providers. The CLAimHealth Activity recommends that the SDNs continue to be supported and strengthened, and that the government and other stakeholders continue to provide funding and technical assistance to the SDNs. The program also recommends that the SDNs be expanded to other areas, and that the government and other stakeholders work together to develop a comprehensive and integrated health system that addresses the needs of underserved populations. The CLAimHealth Activity has made significant contributions to improving family planning and maternal, neonatal, and child health access for underserved populations in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas through service delivery networks in the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur and Sultan Kudarat. The program has demonstrated the effectiveness of the SDNs in improving access to healthcare services, and has identified several best practices and promising interventions that have contributed to the success of the SDNs. The CLAimHealth Activity has also contributed to the development of a comprehensive and integrated health system that addresses the needs of underserved populations. The program has worked with the government and other stakeholders to develop a clear and comprehensive service delivery plan, and has provided training and capacity building for healthcare providers. The CLAimHealth Activity has also contributed to the improvement of the quality of care provided by healthcare providers. The program has provided training and capacity building for healthcare providers, and has worked with the government and other stakeholders to develop a clear and comprehensive quality of care plan. The CLAimHealth Activity has also contributed to the reduction of the costs of healthcare services. The program has worked with the government and other stakeholders to develop a clear and comprehensive cost reduction plan, and has provided training and capacity building for healthcare providers on cost reduction. The CLAimHealth Activity has also contributed to the improvement of the availability of healthcare services. The program has worked with the government and other stakeholders to develop a clear and comprehensive service delivery plan, and has provided training and capacity building for healthcare providers on service delivery.
