Abstract
The ITOCA Facilitator's Guide is intended for facilitators who lead the ITOCA process with MCGL civil society partners, including non-profit, non-governmental, community-based, network or association, and faith-based organizations. The ITOCA assesses capacity in two main areas: technical and organizational. Technical capacity refers to the ability of an organization to deliver high-quality services, while organizational capacity refers to the ability of an organization to manage and sustain its operations. The ITOCA tool and accompanying facilitator's guide can be adapted for use by the MOMENTUM suite of awards. The ITOCA process involves a three-day workshop, which includes participant introductions, understanding the ITOCA, capacity area discussion and scoring, and action planning. The workshop is designed to facilitate a collaborative and participatory approach to capacity assessment and planning. The ITOCA Facilitator's Guide provides a detailed outline of the workshop agenda, including day-by-day activities and materials. The guide also includes a list of abbreviations and acronyms commonly used in the field of maternal, newborn, and child health. The ITOCA tool is designed to be used in conjunction with the ITOCA Facilitator's Guide, which provides a step-by-step guide for facilitators to lead the ITOCA process. The guide includes instructions on how to prepare for the workshop, facilitate the discussions, and document the results. The ITOCA process is designed to be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the organization being assessed. The tool and guide can be used to assess capacity in a variety of settings, including community-based organizations, non-governmental organizations, and faith-based organizations. The ITOCA Facilitator's Guide is a valuable resource for facilitators who are leading the ITOCA process with MCGL civil society partners. The guide provides a comprehensive outline of the workshop agenda, materials, and instructions for facilitating the discussions and documenting the results. The ITOCA tool and guide are designed to support the development of strong, sustainable, and effective organizations that can deliver high-quality services to their communities. By using the ITOCA tool and guide, facilitators can help organizations identify their strengths and weaknesses, develop a clear understanding of their capacity, and create a plan to address any gaps or areas for improvement. The ITOCA process is an important step in the development of strong, sustainable, and effective organizations. By using the ITOCA tool and guide, facilitators can help organizations build their capacity and improve their ability to deliver high-quality services to their communities.
