Abstract
A single teacher is responsible for teaching and managing the class throughout the school year. MG classes are often found in schools with limited student enrollment or in remote areas such as rural villages and mountain communities. The Basa Pilipinas project, in collaboration with the Department of Education, aims to provide teachers of MG classes with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively teach their students. The project offers training and teaching materials, including Teacher's Guides and books, to support the instruction of MG classes. The materials are designed to cater to the individual abilities and needs of students in MG classes. The MG teaching materials are organized into two cycles: the Even cycle and the Odd cycle. The Even cycle is for school years 2014, 2016, 2018, and so on, while the Odd cycle is for school years 2015, 2017, 2019, and so on. Each unit of the school year follows a two-week instructional sequence, where students learn a single topic or theme over a period of two weeks. The activities and tasks assigned to students may vary depending on their level and ability. The MG teaching materials include a Teacher's Guide, a Read Aloud Story, and a Leveled Reader. The Teacher's Guide provides a detailed outline of the lesson plan, including the topic, theme, and activities for each grade level. The Read Aloud Story is a narrative that is read aloud to students, while the Leveled Reader is a book that students read independently. The materials are designed to be flexible and adaptable to the needs of students in MG classes. The Basa Pilipinas project has developed a range of MG teaching materials for different grade levels and school years. For example, the materials for school years 2016, 2018, and 2020 include a Teacher's Guide, a Read Aloud Story, and a Leveled Reader for each unit of the school year. The materials are designed to be used in MG classes that combine students from Grade 2 and Grade 3. The MG teaching materials are based on the Department of Education's curriculum and are designed to cater to the individual abilities and needs of students in MG classes. The materials are intended to be used in conjunction with the Teacher's Guide and other teaching resources to support the instruction of MG classes. The Basa Pilipinas project has also developed a range of MG teaching materials for different languages, including Ilokano and Sinugbuanong Binisaya. The materials are designed to be used in MG classes that teach these languages and are intended to support the instruction of MG classes in these languages. The MG teaching materials are designed to be flexible and adaptable to the needs of students in MG classes. The materials are intended to be used in conjunction with other teaching resources, such as the Teacher's Guide and other teaching materials, to support the instruction of MG classes. The materials are also designed to be used in different school years and grade levels, making them a valuable resource for MG teachers. The Basa Pilipinas project has consulted with experts in the field of education to develop the MG teaching materials. The project has also consulted with teachers and educators who have experience teaching in MG classes. The materials are designed to be based on the latest research and best practices in education, making them a valuable resource for MG teachers.
