Abstract
This manual is part of the Teacher Motivation and Training (TMT) project, which aims to improve the initial and continuous training of enseignants du Primaire. The manual was created through a collaboration between Canadian and Beninese education practitioners, including researchers from the Chaire UNESCO de Développement Curriculaire de l'Université du Québec Montréal (CUDC) and Beninese experts who worked under the direction of TMT. The authors express their gratitude to the Minister of Education, the USAID, and other organizations that supported the project. The manual is designed for formateurs(trices) d'Ecole Normale d'Instituteurs (ENI) and provides a program of intensive training that includes content, learning, and reinforcement of their capacity to use participatory pedagogical methods, objective tools for monitoring and evaluation. The manual is a response to the realities of teaching, learning, and evaluation that are inherent in the problems of reopening ENI. The manual is divided into several sections, including a preface, acknowledgments, and the main content. The preface highlights the importance of the TMT project, which marks a new stage in the collaboration between the Governments of Benin and the United States. The project aims to improve the training of enseignants du Primaire and increase their professional performance. The acknowledgments section expresses gratitude to the experts who contributed to the development of the manual, including international experts in training, curriculum development, and participatory pedagogy. The authors also thank the experts who participated in the conception, realization, and experimentation of the manual. The manual is a valuable resource for formateurs(trices) d'ENI, providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge to improve the training of enseignants du Primaire. The manual's focus on participatory pedagogical methods, objective tools for monitoring and evaluation, and the reinforcement of enseignants' capacity to use these methods is a response to the realities of teaching, learning, and evaluation in Benin.
