Abstract
This document details what services the system should provide, the system properties, and the constraints on the operation and development of the system. The MCUL system aims to support the process of setting up and managing Community Units throughout the entire country by supporting the process set up by the divCHS to harness, manage, and avail all essential descriptive information about all Community Units registered in Kenya. The system intends to provide a community counterpart to the Master Facility List (MFL), housing information that serves the structure of the community units, while being linked through the facility identification code to the MFL for already collected data fields related to the facility, location, etc. The system requirements include the design and development of interactive forms based on the final Community Units data collection tool using an appropriate format. These forms should support and enable the collection, updating, and management of Community Unit specific data. The system should also review, analyze, and evaluate the compatibility of the selected form formats with the existing infrastructure, including the MFL website and existing databases, and provide recommendations on compatibility and implementation. The MCUL system should be integrated with the MFL and other components of the National Health Information System (NHIS) as required. Additionally, the system should conduct training for DivCHS and DivHIS staff on the MCUL system. The system should also ensure functionality and compatibility with existing infrastructure and systems.
