Abstract
The project is part of the USAID mission's Local Construction Program (LCP), which focuses on rehabilitating and constructing roads, water, wastewater, and buildings. The program aims to enhance Palestinians' access to basic infrastructure and services, thereby contributing to the Palestinian economy. The Qabatya Main Road reconstruction involves the rehabilitation of approximately 1.2 kilometers of a four-lane road, including access roads, concrete retaining walls, stonewalls, sidewalks, median islands, lighting poles, a drainage system, crossing pipe culverts, and water pipelines. The project's objective is to facilitate the movement of trade and people across the Southern Jenin District. Key personnel involved in the project include the Project Manager, Resident Engineers, and Safety & Environmental Compliance Officer. The project's safety plan and measures are in place, with regular safety meetings and accident status monitoring. Traffic control measures are also implemented to ensure the safety of workers and the public. The project's construction risk management plan is in place, and community outreach activities are conducted to engage with local stakeholders. The Gender Action Plan Progress report indicates that women-headed households are participating in the project, with a focus on promoting gender equality and women's empowerment. The project's progress and scheduling are closely monitored, with activities during the reporting period including material delivery, equipment installation, and construction work. Planned activities for the next month include continued construction work, material delivery, and equipment installation. The project's indicators, including working and non-working days, are also tracked. Quality control and quality assurance measures are in place, with regular inspections and testing of materials and equipment. The project's submittals status, transmittals, and requests for information are also monitored. Payments and change order requests are processed in accordance with the contract terms. Obstacles and challenges faced by the project include non-compliance notices, notices of unsafe conditions, and requests for information. Progress photos and annexes, including the progress S-curve, safety tool box log, and site visits log, provide a comprehensive overview of the project's progress. The project's implementation is overseen by the Technical Group Company for General Contracting (TGC), with the USAID mission providing guidance and support. The project's success is critical to improving infrastructure in the West Bank and Gaza, thereby contributing to the Palestinian economy and enhancing the quality of life for local residents.
