Abstract
The project is being implemented by APCO/ArCon Construction and Services, with Black and Veatch as the Engineer/CMC. The project has three main components: Project 01, Sinjil Main Entrance Road; Project 02, Wadi Al Balat Road; and Project 03, Kharbatha Bani Harith-Ein Ayoub Road. Project 01 involves the reconstruction of 1.48 km of Sinjil main road and the widening of 0.386 km of Highway 60. The project location is in Ramallah District, and the project value is $2,063,449.00. The project started on January 4, 2014, and the contractual period of performance is 240 calendar days. However, due to modifications, the actual period of performance has been extended to 494 calendar days. Project 02 involves the reconstruction of an existing 1.68 km two-lane roadway that links Ramallah with North Governorates. The project location is in Dura Al Qarei and Wadi Al Balat, Ramallah District, and the project value is $2,616,457.00. The project started on January 14, 2014, and the contractual period of performance is 240 calendar days. However, due to modifications, the actual period of performance has been extended to 336 calendar days. Project 03 involves the rehabilitation of a 2.2 km two-lane roadway that links the town of Kharbatha Bani Hareth with the community of Ein Ayoub. The project location is in Kharbatha Bani Hareth and Ein Ayoub localities, Ramallah Governorate, and the project value is $1,645,938.00. The project started on January 5, 2014, and the contractual period of performance is 240 calendar days. However, due to modifications, the actual period of performance has been extended to 279 calendar days. During the reporting period, no accidents were reported, and two toolbox talks were conducted to discuss safety measures while working at Sinjil intersection and Highway 60. Environmental mitigation plan measures were also implemented during this period. Traffic control measures were implemented for Project 01, and discussions were held with DCL and MAATZ to obtain permits for Sinjil/HW 60 intersection. The project has made significant progress, with actual percentages of completion for Project 01, Project 02, and Project 03 being 66.0%, 100%, and 100%, respectively. The project is expected to be completed by March 14, 2015.
