Abstract
The project is managed by APCO/ArCon Construction and Services, with Black and Veatch serving as the Engineer/CMC. The project consists of three main components: Project 01, Sinjil Main Entrance Road; Project 02, Wadi Al Balat Road; and Project 03, Kharbatha Bani Harith-Ein Ayoub Road. These projects involve the reconstruction and rehabilitation of existing roads, including excavation works, embankment filling, pavement layer construction, and the installation of storm water drainage systems and safety features. Project 01, Sinjil Main Entrance Road, is a 1.88 km two-lane road project located in Ramallah District, connecting the town of Sinjil with Highway 60. The project involves the reconstruction of 1.48 km of Sinjil main road and the widening of 0.386 km of Highway 60. The project was initiated on January 4, 2014, and is expected to be completed by February 29, 2016. Project 02, Wadi Al Balat Road, is a 1.68 km two-lane roadway rehabilitation project located in Ramallah District, linking Ramallah with North Governorates. The project involves the reconstruction of the junction of Dura Al Qarei (Segments A and B) and the rehabilitation of the existing roadway. The project was initiated on January 14, 2014, and was completed on October 1, 2014. Project 03, Kharbatha Bani Harith-Ein Ayoub Road, is a 2.2 km two-lane roadway rehabilitation project located in Ramallah District, linking the town of Kharbatha Bani Hareth with the community of Ein Ayoub. The project involves the reconstruction of the existing roadway and the installation of storm water drainage systems and safety features. The project was initiated on January 5, 2014, and was completed on August 12, 2014. During the reporting period, no accidents were reported, and zero Notices of Unsafe Condition (NUCs) were issued. Environmental compliance measures were not implemented, as construction works at the project were completed. Traffic control measures and coordination were implemented for Project 01, Sinjil Main Entrance Road, including the submission of traffic plans to the DCL and the conduct of joint site visits with DCL representatives. The project has made significant progress, with all three projects achieving 100% completion. The project has also generated person-days of employment, with a total of 1,234 person-days generated during the reporting period. The project has also delivered materials and equipment to the site, including excavation equipment, embankment filling materials, and pavement layer construction materials. The project has been coordinated with various stakeholders, including the DCL, MAATZ, and subcontractors. The project has also been monitored and inspected by the Engineer/CMC, Black and Veatch, to ensure compliance with the contract requirements and specifications. The project has been funded by USAID, with a total contract value of $6,675,844.00. The project has been managed by APCO/ArCon Construction and Services, with Black and Veatch serving as the Engineer/CMC. The project has been implemented in accordance with the contract requirements and specifications, and has achieved significant progress and completion.
