Abstract
13-00011, is a USAID-funded infrastructure development project in the West Bank/Gaza region. The project is managed by APCO/ArCon and has a contract value of $6,675,844.00. The project consists of three main components: Project 01, Sinjil Main Entrance Road; Project 02, Wadi Al Balat Road; and Project 03, Kharbatha Bani Harith-Ein Ayoub Road. Each project involves the reconstruction and rehabilitation of existing roads, including excavation works, embankment filling, pavement layer construction, and the installation of storm water drainage systems. Project 01, Sinjil Main Entrance Road, is a 1.88 km two-lane road project in Ramallah District that connects the town of Sinjil with Highway 60. The project has a modified project value of $2,467,627.34 and was completed on April 13, 2015. Project 02, Wadi Al Balat Road, is a 1.68 km two-lane roadway rehabilitation project in Ramallah District that links Ramallah with North Governorates. The project has a modified project value of $2,696,588.32 and was completed on October 1, 2014. Project 03, Kharbatha Bani Harith-Ein Ayoub Road, is a 2.2 km two-lane roadway rehabilitation project in Ramallah District that links the town of Kharbatha Bani Hareth with the community of Ein Ayoub. The project has a modified project value of $1,400,872.94 and was completed on August 12, 2014. During the reporting period, no accidents were reported, and two toolbox talks were conducted to discuss safety measures and environmental considerations. Environmental mitigation plan measures were also implemented during this period. Traffic control measures and coordination with local authorities were also conducted during this period. For Project 01, construction works started in Area B after implementing approved traffic control measures. The project team coordinated with DCL and MAATZ to obtain permits for the Sinjil/HW 60 intersection. The project team has made significant progress in completing the road rehabilitation projects, with Project 01 and Project 02 nearing completion and Project 03 already completed. The project has also implemented environmental mitigation measures and conducted safety talks to ensure the well-being of workers and the local community. The project team has also coordinated with local authorities to obtain permits and approvals for the project. The project has a planned completion date of April 13, 2015, and the project team is working to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and within budget. The project has a total value of $6,675,844.00, with a modified project value of $6,565,088.60.
