Abstract
The project is being implemented by APCO/ArCon Construction and Services, with Black and Veatch serving as the Engineer/CMC. Project 01, Nablus – Beit Iba- Deir Sharaf Road, is a 5.5 km, 4-lane roadway stretching through areas A, B, and C. The project involves road reconstruction, concrete works, drainage systems, and water networks. The Statement of Work (SOW) requires the project to be completed within 365 calendar days. As of February 28, 2015, the project has achieved an actual percentage of completion of 85.4%, with a planned percentage of completion of 89.6% (proposed Baseline 03). Project 02, Deir Sharaf – Tulkarem Road, is a 2.2 km, two-lane regional road passing through agricultural valleys and located in area C. The project involves reconstruction and milling and overlay. The SOW demands this project be carried out within 240 calendar days. As of February 28, 2015, the project has achieved an actual percentage of completion of 100%, with a planned percentage of completion of 100% (Baseline 02). Safety measures are being implemented to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. During the reporting period, zero accidents were reported, one Notice of Unsafe Condition (NUC) was issued, and one safety toolbox talk was conducted at project 01 for subcontractor labors and staff. Environmental mitigation plan measures, such as public and labor health and safety, traffic control, dust control, underground utilities protection, and monitoring, were implemented during this reporting period. The project has made significant progress, with the completion of various activities, including excavation works, embankment filling, pavement layer construction, and construction of retaining structures. The project has also achieved notable milestones, including the completion of Project 02 on August 19, 2014, and the site handover on the same date. The project team has been actively engaged in addressing safety concerns and implementing corrective measures to prevent accidents. The team has also been working to address environmental concerns, including the implementation of environmental mitigation plan measures and responding to recommendations from the CMC. The project has achieved notable progress, with the completion of various activities and the achievement of significant milestones. The project team continues to work towards completing the project within the specified timeframe and ensuring a safe and environmentally friendly working environment.
