Abstract
13-00011, is a USAID-funded infrastructure development initiative in the West Bank/Gaza region. The project is implemented by APCO/ArCon Construction and Services, with Black and Veatch as the Engineer/CMC. The project's objective is to improve transportation infrastructure in the region, enhancing connectivity and economic opportunities. The project consists of three main components: Project 01 - Sinjil Main Entrance Road, Project 02 - Wadi Al Balat Road, and Project 03 - Kharbatha Bani Harith-Ein Ayoub Road. Each project involves the reconstruction and upgrading of existing roads, including excavation works, embankment filling, pavement layer construction, and the installation of storm water drainage systems and safety features. Project 01, located in Ramallah District, involves the reconstruction of 1.48 km of Sinjil main road and the widening of 0.386 km of Highway 60. The project was completed on February 29, 2016, with a total value of $2,063,449.00. Project 02, also located in Ramallah District, involves the reconstruction of 1.68 km of Wadi Al Balat Road and the reconstruction of the junction of Dura Al Qarei. The project was completed on October 1, 2014, with a total value of $2,616,457.00. Project 03, located in Ramallah Governorate, involves the rehabilitation of 2.2 km of Kharbatha Bani Harith-Ein Ayoub Road. The project was completed on August 12, 2014, with a total value of $1,645,938.00. During the reporting period, no accidents were reported, and zero Notices of Unsafe Condition (NUCs) were issued. Environmental compliance measures were not implemented, as construction works were completed. Traffic control measures were implemented for Project 01, and coordination with DCL and MAATZ was conducted to obtain permits for the Sinjil/HW 60 intersection. The project's progress is monitored through various indicators, including the number of kilometers of transportation infrastructure constructed or repaired and the number of person-days of employment generated. The project's performance is evaluated against the planned and actual completion dates, as well as the planned and actual percentage of completion. The project's overall progress is reported as 100% complete for all three projects, with the final acceptance certificate issued on February 29, 2016.
