Abstract
The project is managed by APCO/ArCon Construction and Services, with Black and Veatch serving as the Engineer/CMC. The project's objective is to improve transportation infrastructure in the West Bank/Gaza region. Project 01, Sinjil Main Entrance Road, is a 2-lane road project in Ramallah District, consisting of 1.88 km of roadway upgrade that connects the town of Sinjil with Highway 60. The project's scope includes reconstruction of 1.48 km of Sinjil main road and widening of 0.386 km of Highway 60. The project's start date was January 4, 2014, and the contractual period of performance was 240 calendar days. However, due to modifications, the project's end date was extended to August 8, 2015. As of the reporting period, the project's actual percentage of completion is 98.8%. Project 02, Wadi Al Balat Road, is an existing 1.68 km two-lane roadway with a deteriorated surface that links Ramallah with North Governorates. The project's scope includes reconstruction of the junction of Dura Al Qarei (Segments A and B). The project's start date was January 14, 2014, and the contractual period of performance was 240 calendar days. However, due to modifications, the project's end date was extended to October 7, 2014. The project was completed on October 1, 2014, and the actual percentage of completion is 100%. Project 03, Kharbatha Bani Harith-Ein Ayoub Road, is a 2.2 km two-lane roadway rehabilitation linking the town of Kharbatha Bani Hareth with the community of Ein Ayoub in Ramallah District. The project's scope includes excavation works, embankment filling, pavement layer construction, and installation of safety features. The project's start date was January 5, 2014, and the contractual period of performance was 240 calendar days. However, due to modifications, the project's end date was extended to August 11, 2014. The project was completed on August 12, 2014, and the actual percentage of completion is 100%. During the reporting period, no accidents were reported, and zero Notices of Unsafe Condition (NUCs) were issued. Environmental mitigation plan measures were implemented, including public and labor health and safety, dust control, olive trees relocation, and other measures. Traffic control measures were implemented for Project 01, and coordination with DCL and MAATZ was conducted to obtain permits for the Sinjil/HW 60 intersection.
