Abstract

PES, consisting of a facesheet only, covers the period 10/82-7/84 and is based on an attached special evaluation (XD-AAR-258-A). Increased attention should be given to: (1) provision of alternate incentives for farmers, with less emphasis on formal credit; (2) monitoring of erosion; (3) reduced credit lag; (4) closer coordination among related agencies; and (5) strengthening of output reporting.
