Plan Estratégico de Inversión Municipal para mejorar la prestación del Servicio de Agua a nivel urbano

This plan was created with the participation of the Honorable Concejo Municipal, municipal officials, and employees of various departments. The plan aims to address the current situation of water services in the municipality, which is characterized by inadequate infrastructure, limited access to clean water, and high rates of water-borne diseases. According to data from the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE), the municipality has a high rate of water-borne diseases, with diarrhea being one of the leading causes of morbidity. The plan proposes several strategic actions to improve the water service, including the construction of new water treatment plants, the expansion of the water distribution network, and the implementation of a water metering system. The plan also includes measures to improve the management and operation of the water system, such as the creation of a water management committee and the implementation of a water conservation program. The plan estimates that the total investment required to implement the proposed actions is approximately Q 15 million, which will be financed through a combination of municipal funds and external funding from international organizations.
