Abstract
The brochure/trail guide was developed by and for the community of Buyukkonuk in support of its efforts to promote eco-tourism and environmental sustainability. This work has been sponsored in part by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Economic Development and Growth for Enterprises (EDGE) project. The island of Cyprus is home to a diverse range of landscapes, including the Mediterranean Sea, the Kyrinia Mountains, and the scenic valleys. The trail guide highlights several key locations, including the To Kantar Castle, the Municipal Boundaries, and the villages of Buyukkonuk. The guide also features various landmarks, such as the Juniper trees, the Ouye River, and the Carob trees. The trail guide includes a detailed map of the area, with several key features marked, including possible picnic points, camping points, and scenic viewpoints. The map also highlights several points of interest, including the ruins of a castle, a tomb, and a carob depository. Additionally, the guide notes several areas suitable for swimming, bird watching, and fishing. The trail guide also provides information on the distances and heights of various locations, with several key points marked on the map.
