The program of community monitoring in the San Pedro River basin, municipality of San José del Fragua, Caquetá, is a collaborative effort between the Corporación para el Desarrollo Sostenible del Piedemonte Andino-Amazonico (CORDESPA) and the Parque Nacional Natural Alto Fragua Indi Wasi (PNN AFIW).

Abstract
The program aims to monitor and conserve the biodiversity of the region, which is crucial for the provision of essential ecosystem services, such as water regulation, wildlife, and forest products. The program was initiated in 2016, with the support of the Fondo Patrimonio Natural and CORDESPA, to address the challenges faced by the local communities in the microcuenca of the San Pedro River. The program has been working with 56 families from six veredas in the region, prioritizing themes such as water resource management and productive reconversion. The program has undergone several phases, including the construction of a community monitoring program, which has involved the participation of local communities in the design and implementation of the program. The program has also established two subcommittees to work on the construction of the proposal, focusing on the themes of water resource management and productive reconversion. The program has been developed in the context of the PNN AFIW, which has been working with local communities to promote sustainable development and conservation.
