Abstract
The activity focuses on increasing workplace diversity, improving inclusive workplace environments, and expanding equitable promotion opportunities. The activity is implemented by CORE International, Inc. and is managed by the USAID Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA/Thailand). The E4SEA Activity began in FY 2022 and is scheduled to run until FY 2025. The activity's performance work statement (PWS) outlines the key elements of the approach to achieve the desired outcomes. The PWS emphasizes the importance of increasing workplace diversity, improving inclusive workplace environments, and expanding equitable promotion opportunities. The activity's outcomes are aligned with the USAID Asia EDGE (Asia Enhancing Development and Growth through Energy) strategy, which aims to promote clean energy development in the region. The E4SEA Activity has made significant progress in achieving its objectives. In the first quarter of FY 2023, the activity implemented several interventions aimed at promoting equality in the energy sector. These interventions included the delivery of an accelerated course to E4SEA Local Organization (LOC) partners in the region, which aimed to enhance their capacity to promote equality in the energy sector. The activity also conducted a reorientation of its focus to place greater emphasis on regional coordination and the delivery of the accelerated course. The E4SEA Activity has also made progress in promoting equality in the energy sector through its outreach and engagement efforts. The activity has established partnerships with several regional and international organizations, including the Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) and the American Chamber of Commerce, Thailand (AMCHAM). These partnerships have enabled the activity to leverage resources and expertise to promote equality in the energy sector. In terms of specific achievements, the E4SEA Activity has reported several success stories. One notable success story is the "Srikandi" initiative in energy in Indonesia, which aimed to promote equality in the energy sector by providing training and capacity-building opportunities to women in the energy sector. The initiative has resulted in significant improvements in the representation of women in the energy sector and has helped to promote equality in the sector. The E4SEA Activity has also made progress in implementing its communications and outreach plan. The activity has established a strong social media presence and has used various communication channels to promote its activities and achievements. The activity has also engaged with several regional and international organizations to promote its activities and achievements. In terms of challenges, the E4SEA Activity has faced several issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the continued travel challenges in the region. The activity has had to adapt its implementation plan to address these challenges and has had to reorient its focus to place greater emphasis on regional coordination and the delivery of the accelerated course. Overall, the E4SEA Activity has made significant progress in promoting equality in the energy sector in Southeast Asia. The activity's achievements and success stories demonstrate its commitment to promoting equality in the sector and its ability to leverage resources and expertise to achieve its objectives.
