It requires a deep understanding of the internal and external environment, as well as the ability to anticipate and respond to changes in the market. Strategic leaders must be able to balance short-term and long-term goals, manage resources effectively, and make tough decisions that may have significant consequences. The concept of leadership is often linked to the idea of power and influence. Leaders must be able to inspire and motivate others to work towards a common goal, and they must be able to make decisions that are in the best interest of the organization. However, leadership is not just about power and influence; it is also about building relationships, communicating effectively, and creating a positive work culture. In the context of pharmaceutical supply chain management, leadership is critical in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of products to customers. Students will also have the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios, and to develop their own leadership skills through participation in group discussions and assignments. The course will cover a range of topics, including the history and development of leadership theory, the different types of leadership (e.g. transformational, transactional, servant leadership), the skills and qualities required to be an effective leader (e.g. communication, empathy, problem-solving), and the challenges and opportunities associated with leadership (e.g. power and influence, conflict and negotiation). The course will also explore the role of leadership in driving organizational success and achieving competitive advantage. Students will learn about the different strategies and tactics that leaders can use to drive organizational success, including the use of data and analytics, the development of a strong organizational culture, and the creation of a positive work environment. Overall, the course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the concept of leadership, including its history, development, and application in the context of pharmaceutical supply chain management. Students will develop their own leadership skills through participation in group discussions and assignments, and they will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with leadership. The course will be divided into 9 chapters, each of which will cover a specific topic related to leadership. The chapters will include: * Chapter 1: The Phenomenon of Leadership * Chapter 2: The History and Development of Leadership Theory * Chapter 3: The Different Types of Leadership * Chapter 4: The Skills and Qualities Required to be an Effective Leader * Chapter 5: The Challenges and Opportunities Associated with Leadership * Chapter 6: The Role of Leadership in Driving Organizational Success * Chapter 7: The Use of Data and Analytics in Leadership * Chapter 8: The Development of a Strong Organizational Culture * Chapter 9: The Creation of a Positive Work Environment Each chapter will include a range of learning objectives, including the ability to define and explain key concepts, to analyze and evaluate complex information, and to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. The chapters will also include a range of activities and assignments, including group discussions, case studies, and self-check questions.
