Abstract
The crisis has resulted in a large-scale displacement of people, with various regions in Syria affected. The provinces of Al Hasakah, Aleppo, Ar Raqqah, Dayr Az Zawr, Idlib, Latakia, Hamah, Homs, and As Suwayda' are among those with significant internally displaced populations. Implementation partners for humanitarian assistance in these regions include organizations such as WFP, UNHCR, UNICEF, and ICRC. In Lebanon, implementing partners include WFP, ICRC, UNFPA, IFRC, UNHCR, and UNICEF. In Jordan, implementing partners include WFP, ICRC, IOM, UNHCR, and UNICEF. In Iraq, implementing partners include WFP, IOM, UNHCR, and UNICEF. Humanitarian assistance in Syria is being provided through various channels, including open displacement camps, planned displacement camps, and relief reception centers. The types of assistance being provided include food assistance, shelter and settlements, water, sanitation, and hygiene, as well as protection and refugee assistance. The crisis in Syria has resulted in a significant number of reported deaths, with estimates ranging from 1 to over 10,500. The humanitarian situation in Syria is complex, with multiple actors involved in providing assistance. The U.S. Government is providing humanitarian assistance to Syria through various agencies, including USAID/OFDA and USAID/FFP.
