Abstract
The project, led by KNCV, a non-governmental organization, focused on conducting a nationwide TB prevalence survey. The survey field work was completed in 95 countrywide clusters by mid-December 2011, marking a major achievement for the project. The survey management team faced numerous challenges, including security concerns, floods, staff turnover, and equipment maintenance in difficult geographic terrain. Despite these obstacles, the team successfully completed the field work, which was started in December 2010 and took almost a year to complete. The USAID has approved the re-programming request of the TB CARE I budget, allowing for fine-tuning and adjustments within the approved project budget. The overall project implementation status is satisfactory, with a focus on timely completion of data entry and validation. The data management unit, based at the National TB Program (NTP), has made significant progress in data entry, with 85 out of 95 clusters completed for all data forms and registers. However, data validation is still in progress, with step 1 completed for 29 clusters, step 2 for 18 clusters, and steps 3 and 4 for 3 clusters. The project has also received technical assistance from KNCV consultants, including a data consultant who provided support to the data management unit. A TA mission is planned for February 2012 to facilitate the data management unit's work. The draft report is expected to be shared with stakeholders in a national workshop by the end of March 2012. The project's quarterly activity plan report highlights the progress made in various technical areas, including human resources, operational costs, and international technical assistance. The report also shows that the project has made significant progress in completing the TB prevalence survey, with 95 clusters surveyed and data entry and validation in progress. The project's overall work plan completion is 85%, with a satisfactory implementation status. The project has faced challenges, including security concerns and equipment maintenance, but has made significant progress in completing the survey field work and data entry. The project's next steps include completing data analysis and validation, preparing the draft report, and sharing it with stakeholders in a national workshop. The project's technical area 7, M&E, OR, and Surveillance, has made significant progress in completing the survey field work and data entry. The project has also received technical assistance from KNCV consultants, including a data consultant who provided support to the data management unit. The project's overall progress and deliverables are up-to-date, with a satisfactory implementation status. The project's quarterly photos show the data consultant, Nico Kalisvaart, working with the survey data management unit staff. The project's quarterly activity plan modifications include a request for adding new activities to the current work plan, including a TOT training on LED-FM microscopy. The project's remaining budget and proposed budget are also highlighted in the quarterly activity plan report.
