Abstract
In December 2015, the project implemented various activities to enhance the quality of services provided by the Service Holder (SH) clinics. A comprehensive 'Orientation on Basic Nutrition Service Package' was organized for 18 service providers from seven HIV-ESP integrated SH clinics. The training focused on current malnutrition status, adolescent, maternal, and child nutritional needs, nutrition counseling, and growth monitoring and promotion. The Behavior Change Communication (BCC) team provided training on 'SH Clinic Management' to 39 Clinic Managers at Barisal. The team also organized a regional media dialogue at Sylhet, where 38 journalists from print and electronic media were present. The BCC team selected topics for the ESP flip chart and drafted concept notes for various brochures and leaflets to promote the SH clinic services. The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team conducted three batches of training for NGO MIS Officers in December 2015. The training aimed to enhance the capacity of NGO staff members in data collection, analysis, and information use of project data. The training program included orientation and implementation of the new Access database, data collection tools, and data quality and control systems. The project also coordinated with the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) to improve local-level coordination. An advocacy and orientation meeting was held with the newly appointed Director Hospitals of DGHS. The Additional Secretary MoHFW, who is also the Chairperson of the NHSDP Advisory Committee, visited two SH clinics and appreciated their performance. He instructed the local government Health and FP authorities to support the NHSDP program in all possible ways.
