Abstract
The project is implemented by Pathfinder International and is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Department of International Development (DFID). In April 2015, the project conducted a workshop on 'Gender Policy Development' for four NGOs, including SSKS, SHIMANTIK, FDSR, and NISHKRITI. The workshop was designed to help each NGO develop its own gender policy and action plan. Additionally, a day-long orientation on 'Social Analysis and Action (SAA)' was organized for BAMANEH staff. The project also focused on infection prevention practices, with two days of training organized for 48 doctors, paramedics, and clinic aides on 'Infection Prevention Practices' in Khulna. The training was supported by Engender Health and OGSB. Furthermore, the project conducted a one-day orientation on 'Basics of Tuberculosis Control and Care' for Clinic Managers at Surjer Hashi Clinic in Jessore. The orientation aimed to strengthen the capacity of SH clinic staff to identify TB patients and refer them to nearest NTP-affiliated facilities for further management. Capacity building was also a key focus area in April 2015, with the capacity building unit taking an orientation session on MOCAT assessment exercise. The CB team visited four NGOs in Chittagong and provided technical assistance as a follow-up of the TA required in terms of MOCAT assessment findings and TA plan. The project also conducted meetings with government officials, including Dr. Mohammed Sharif, Director-MCH and Line Director, MCRAH of DGFP, to establish bilateral reference of clients to receive MNCAH-FP services. The project also conducted IPC with Prof. Abul Kalam Azad, Additional Director General (Planning & Research) and Director-MIS of DGHS, to incorporate NHSDP MIS with Govt. H-MIS in a feasible and operative way. The project's monthly statistical report for April 2015 shows an increase in the total number of couple years of protection (CYP) by 1% from March 2015, with a total of 128,767 CYP achieved in April 2015. The report also shows an increase in the total number of service contacts by 3% from March 2015, with a total of 3,347,158 service contacts achieved in April 2015.
