Abstract
The report contains key activities and performance summaries of various indicators. The project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Pathfinder International. Key activities in September 2016 included the production and delivery of six different Behavior Change Communication (BCC) materials to promote services and increase access for poor clients into SH services. The materials included a leaflet, a Gender-Based Violence advocacy brochure, a comprehensive ESP Flip Chart for service providers, and an adapted version of the IYCF brochure. Additionally, a one-page color poster on BCC strategy and Knowledge Management strategy was produced, along with flash drives and e-tool kits and e-BCC materials. The report also highlights the coordination with the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) through the National Health Service Delivery Project (NHSDP). NHSDP conducted advocacy with the Program Manager, EPI, DGHS, on sustainable supply of EPI vaccine, especially in urban areas. NHSDP also assisted Mr. Dannis in advocacy with the Health Economics Unit of MoHFW on Health Financing of SH network. The performance summary of key indicators shows a decrease in the number of Couple Years of Protection (CYP) by 4.1% in September 2016 compared to August 2016. The total number of service contacts decreased by 5.1% in September 2016 compared to August 2016. The percentage of service contacts who qualify as poor increased by 1.5% in September 2016 compared to August 2016. The report also highlights the decrease in the number of safe deliveries by Skilled Birth Attendants (SBAs) by 3.9% in September 2016 compared to August 2016. The total number of Ante Natal Care (ANC) visits decreased by 9.1% in September 2016 compared to August 2016. Essential Newborn Care (ENC) provided in September 2016 decreased by 5% compared to August 2016. The report also presents a table of NHSDP overall service statistics at a glance from January 2013 to September 2016, showing the total service contacts, child health, maternal health, family planning, and other health services. The report highlights the decrease in the number of service contacts in September 2016 compared to the previous months. The project's focus is on expanding the client base, especially for the poor, for quality Essential Service Package (ESP). The project aims to improve the health outcomes of the target population through the provision of quality health services. The project's success is measured through the performance of various indicators, including the number of CYP, service contacts, ANC visits, and ENC provided.
